Five-Day Loire Valley Cycling Tour Itinerary

Your adventure starts in the charming town of Amboise. After a relaxing afternoon and night there, you’ll begin your cycling journey. You’ll first head through the gentle hills of the Cher River valley to discover the Château of Chenonceau and its famed gardens.

Next, it’s off to the city of Tours to experience the charming Old Town and market. Finally, you’ll bike to the enchanting Château Villandry, once again along the serene Cher River, before returning to Tours for the evening.

Day 1: Welcome to Amboise

Meet at your hotel in Amboise.

You’ll familiarize yourselves with your bicycle (and take a short ride to make sure the bike is fitted correctly), and get to know the route ahead with detailed maps and instructions. You’ll also get a complete equipment pack, helmet, as well as entrance fees and itinerary and hotel vouchers. Of course, should you need anything en route our 24/7 emergency phone number is available.

Afterwards, you’ll check in to your hotel for a leisurely dinner (included) and a relaxing evening in Amboise. Your hotel is located near the Loire river at the foot of the Royal Castle of Amboise. The charming four-star hotel is housed within a typical Touraine town house.

You can stroll through the town after dinner or just rest up before biking.

Day 2: Château Chenonceau, 35 km loop.

After breakfast (included), you’ll pedal through the gentle hills from the town of Amboise to the nearby Cher River Valley to the Château de Chenonceau for a tour.

After touring, you’ll bike back to your hotel.

Night at your 4-star hotel.

Dinner at leisure (not included), recommendations provided.

Day 3: Biking Amboise to Tours, 25 km

Breakfast (included), check out, ride to Tours (approx. 2 hours).

Check-in at the 4-star Hotel in Tours. Your hotel is set in a fashionable shopping area a short walk from the Old Town, a prestigious address in Tours since 1846. Dinner at leisure in Tours.

Day 4: Tours – Château of Villandry, 34 km loop.

Breakfast (included) and ride to Villandry (17 km).

After touring, ride back to your hotel. Dinner at leisure in Tours.

Day 5: Loire Valley Cycling Tour ends

Check out after breakfast (included).
