Mumm Champagne Tour Itinerary
Your guide meets you at the Reims Tourist Office kiosk outside the train station. First stop: G.H. Mumm, founded in 1827 and one of the largest champagne houses in the world. Tour the cellars—18 kilometers of underground galleries—and taste the Cordon Rouge, their flagship bottle.
From Reims, drive to Épernay and down the Avenue de Champagne—the street where the major houses are headquartered. Continue to Hautvillers, where Dom Pérignon is buried in the village church. The views over the UNESCO-listed vineyards are worth the stop.
Lunch is at a local winery with champagne pairings. Afternoon: visit a family-run domaine where you’ll taste directly with the growers. These smaller producers work differently than the big houses—smaller batches, hands-on methods, bottles you won’t find in stores. It’s a valuable contrast to Mumm.
Six tastings total. Back to Reims by late afternoon for your return train to Paris.
