Canadian Normandy D-Day Tour Itinerary
Sites Visited Throughout the Day:
Bernières-sur-Mer (1) – Liberated by the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada on June 6, 1944, Bernières-sur-Mer was a heavily fortified German strongpoint requiring intense, street-by-street combat. Today, the peaceful village offers striking reminders of the fierce determination and bravery shown by Canadian troops during WWII.
Juno Beach (2) – The principle landing zone for Canada’s forces, Juno Beach saw intense fighting on D-Day as the Canadians stormed ashore under heavy fire. Walking the shoreline today reveals the challenges faced by Allied soldiers, who fought courageously to secure this crucial foothold in Normandy and decisively turn the tide of the war.
Juno Beach Centre (3) – Founded by Canadian D-Day veteran Garth Webb, the center pays tribute to the men and women who served Canada during World War II. Exhibits, interactive displays, and personal stories highlight the profound impact Canadians had on D-Day and the broader war effort.

Bény-sur-Mer/Reviers Canadian Cemetery (4) – Final resting place of over 2,000 Canadian soldiers who fell during the Normandy campaign, this cemetery is a somber testament to Canada’s sacrifice. The meticulously maintained grounds are a powerful reminder of the price paid for liberation and peace.
Abbaye d’Ardenne (5) – Site of the grim execution of more than 160 Canadian soldiers by German forces, the abbey stands as a stark reminder of the brutality of war. Exploring its medieval cloisters today evokes both the rich history of Normandy and the solemn memory of wartime atrocities.
At the end of your tour you will be driven back to Bayeux in time for your evening train to Paris. During the day time will be set aside for lunch (not included).
