Day 1: Private Gourmet Walk and Pastry Class in Strasbourg
Take a morning TGV from Paris Gare de l’Est to Strasbourg. Your English-speaking licensed guide meets you at the station. The half-day gourmet and city tour stops at the best food artisans in town for two tastings: Kougelhopf, gingerbread, local cheeses or French pastries. Between the tastings you walk the historic center, La Petite France and Notre-Dame Cathedral. Earphones for the cathedral visit are included.

Lunch is at a local restaurant and is not included. Tell us what you like and we arrange the table.
In the afternoon you join a chef for a private pastry class. You bake Bredele, the small Alsatian cookies, then sit down to tea time by the fireplace with hot spiced wine or hot chocolate, Stollen or Kougelhopf, and fresh jams.
Overnight in Strasbourg.
Day 2: Private Alsace Wine Route Day
Meet your driver-guide at 9:00 a.m. at the Strasbourg Tourist Office, 17 Place de la Cathédrale. You travel the Alsace Wine Route, the oldest wine route in France, in a private minivan. The first stop is Colmar, the wine capital of Alsace. Walk the narrow streets of the old town with your guide, then take a private boat tour on the Lauch River through Little Venice with a glass of Crémant.
Lunch is at a winery. The winemaker welcomes you, presents the estate, and serves boards of local cheeses, breads and an Alsatian dessert with the estate wines.

In the afternoon you walk Riquewihr with your guide. The village ranks among the Most Beautiful Villages in France, and most of its houses date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The day ends at a second winery with a visit of the cellar and a private tasting of 6 to 10 wines.
Your driver-guide drops you at Strasbourg station at 6:00 p.m. for the evening train back to Paris.
Your Hotel in Strasbourg
The hotel is not included, so you choose where to stay. Day one starts at Strasbourg station, day two at the Tourist Office next to the cathedral, and both days end at the station. The old town is a 10-minute walk or two tram stops from the platforms.
The Grande Île is the island at the center of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1988. Hotels here are a few minutes on foot from the cathedral, the restaurants, and the Christmas market in December. Petite France, on the western tip of the island, has the half-timbered houses and canals from the photographs, and a handful of small hotels in old tanners’ houses. The station quarter has larger hotels at lower rates, five minutes from your morning meeting point.
