Loire Valley Vouvray Half Day Trip Itinerary
High-speed TGV rail takes you an amazing 145 miles in about an hour. Upon arrival in the city of Tours, meet your guide at the nearby tourist office and begin a special afternoon discovering the depth of Loire whites as represented by the Vouvray appellation. Vouvray wines are made in 8 villages around the town of Vouvray, north of the Loire River. Area wine-making dates back to the Middle Ages; Vouvray is one of the oldest recognized appellations in France.
Visit of a small family producer
Varying by time of year, your small family producer visit gives a taste of life on a small domain. It’s all hands on deck for pruning, harvest and vinting. That means you might get a tour from the owner himself. A bonus is a chance to taste a vintage numbering just a few hundred cases, a bottle that might never be exported. Truly a personal visit.
Visit of Large Vouvray Wine Producer
Getting to know the great variety of whites of Vouvray means visiting a large estate. You’ll come to appreciate just how much one grape can offer. A highlight is a visit to tenth-century limestone caves for more tastes.
